Globally, libraries are the backbones of the institutions in which they exist, irrespective of whether they are in a developed country or a developing country. Ideally, no school should operate without one. Different types of libraries provide various kinds of information to a range of people. This collection of articles will attract the attention of education authorities, education policy makers, subject teachers, teacher librarians, academics, students, and parents. Young adults can also obtain information here concerning career or vocational guidance. This book promotes the use of libraries in students’ learning and quality of education.

Dr Nkhangweni Patricia Mahwasane obtained her doctoral degree on the topic “School libraries and the development of reading habits among rural Foundation Phase (grade three) learners in Vhembe district, Limpopo Province.” She has published seventeen peer-reviewed papers on libraries, reading and learners, and is an honorary advisory member of the Research Association. She is also a life member of the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA), and a member of the Library Management Committee (LMC) of the University of Venda Library, South Africa. She has extensive experience as a teacher, teacher librarian, academic librarian, and researcher in library matters.
